George Stevens appointed as lecturer in vocal studies at the South African College of Music
On February 1 George Stevens was appointed lecturer in vocal studies at the South African College of Music. He fills the position left vacant by A/Prof Brad Liebl’s retirement at the end of 2013. Born in Cape Town Stevens was the principal baritone at Staatstheater Bremen, Germany, from 1998 to 2006, launching into an international solo career in 2007. He can be heard (and seen) on stage in Cape Town Opera’s production of “The Marriage of Figaro” in October.
