A three-year project aims to initiate a revision of how we look at the history of Western music in South Africa.

Veit Erlmann of the University of Texas at Austin will be teaching this semester at the SACM as a Fulbright Scholar. He will be teaching an undergraduate course on the “Music of South Africa” and a postgraduate course on the “Creative Industries in Africa.”

Free lunchtime concerts presented by students and staff of the SACM take place in the Baxter Concert Hall or the Chisholm Recital Room at the SA College of Music every Thursday during term time. The concerts commence at 13h05 and fit neatly into 40 minutes.
Members of the public are invited to attend these concerts.
